General Statement:
This position is responsible for all operations in Craveology, a café, theater concession stand and the North Star Science Store.
Principle duties include: staffing, scheduling and supervising all staff; creating and reviewing detailed financial reports; management of budget and cost controls; F&B and merchandise inventory control. Developing menu items for the café and merchandise assortment for the store.
Selected candidate will ensure all department, OSHA, health department and company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times; and that all guests receive optimal service in a timely, professional and courteous manner. Furthermore, this position will also be responsible for café and store staff development, including coaching, training and disciplinary action, among other duties.
Reports to: Director of Business Operations
Primary Duties and Responsibilities, including mental requirements of position:
- Establish café and store operational and cash handling policies and procedures and ensure that staff correctly adheres to them.
- Develop menu/merchandise assortment and determine pricing.
- Responsible for managing inventory levels, vendor relations, sourcing new product for café and store.
- Responsible for end of month inventory and food cost analysis.
- Manage café revenue and expense budget including personnel and operational expenses.
- Development, implementation, and execution of staff training programs.
- Develop, update, and maintain all Café and Store Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manuals.
- Responsible for interviewing and hiring all café and store staff in accordance with Human Resources policy and procedures.
- Responsible for adequate staffing and scheduling of all café and store staff.
- Responsible for performance evaluations of café and store staff in accordance with Human Resources policy and procedures.
- Responsible for staff development, including coaching and disciplinary action in accordance with Human Resources policy and procedures.
- Ensure adequate loss prevention controls in place and that all loss control procedures are being followed.
- Ensure guest concerns are addressed in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
- Attends Manager Meetings and other meetings as required or requested by management or Human Resources.
- Must maintain thorough knowledge of emergency plan procedures and ensure staff are trained and kept current of emergency procedures.
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
