Accounts Receivable Specialist

What You'll Do

This role will be responsible for managing all accounts receivable related duties primarily in relation to the Direct to Hobby sales team.  

Essential Functions 

• Timely and accurate processing of payments with regards to invoices. 
• Monitoring and maintaining up-to-date records for customer accounts and reviewing accounts in arrears to ensure appropriate actions are taken. 
• Notifying debtors of overdue payments and accounts by telephone, mail, and email – including timely follow-up if a reply is not received. 
• Professional handling of customer inquiries, including providing detailed customer reconciliations and statements as required, resolving payment disputes, and processing payments and refunds. 
• Tracing and locating debtors to make payment arrangements. 
• Recommending further action or discontinuation of service on occasions where payment is not forthcoming – including liaising with Sales department where necessary. 
• Preparing reports related to collection work. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

Education/Experience 

• Associate’s degree in business, finance or related field, or equivalent experience. 
• One to two (1-2) years’ experience handling accounts receivable.  

Minimum Qualifications 

• Provides professional and courteous customer support. 
• Unwavering attention to detail. 
• Ability to ask questions clearly and confidently. 
• Shares suggestions for process improvements.  
• Ability to work with a team, and independently.  
• Ability to reconcile accounting discrepancies and recognize anomalies.  
• Keen ability to pick up ERP systems and strong excel skills.  
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
