JOB DESCRIPTION:

Overview: 

A Training and Development Manager trains front-line staff to provide a welcoming environment of learning, growth, and opportunity for Sender One guests. The Training and Development Manager embodies the core values; is enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive; and sets and maintains the company-wide standards for front-line staff to deliver outstanding customer experiences to all Sender One patrons.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute programs for the training (both cultural and operational) of new front-line staff for both the opening of new locations and the staffing of existing locations;
  • Develop and maintain a fundamental understanding of gym operations, company culture and goals, and staff requirements to match staff training with business needs;
  • Train new hires on operations to meet their job duties, responsibilities, and expectations;
  • Evaluate and measure staff performance and guest relations practices at locations to ensure employees receive on-going training so both staff performance and training programs align with and deliver company goals;
  • Ensure employees understand the requirements of their jobs and have the skills necessary to fulfill those requirements.
  • Create and manage training budgets;
  • Update training programs to ensure that they are relevant to current goals, responsibilities, and needs;
  • Frequent travel to current Sender One locations, and be stationed at a new location for up to 3 - 6 months.

  • Identifies the training needs of Sender One and make changes and improvements as required;
  • Adaptable, particularly to tailoring training approaches and methods to different learning styles and situations;
  • Clearly conveys information to educate diverse audiences via in-person, email, video chat, and over the phone;
  • Multi-tasker who can handle multiple, simultaneous projects AND prioritize work flow and attention in a dynamic, priority shifting environment;
  • Must be able to Climb Together - work together, support the staff, share ideas, and earn trust.

Industry Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience as an employee trainer, training administrator, training coordinator, or as a training consultant, designing and presenting interactive training or educational programs with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Experience developing successful training programs that have led to employee performance improvement and sustainability;
  • Organizes and manages multiple training initiatives simultaneously.

Time Commitment:

  • Work a minimum of 38 hours per work week (Sun - Sat);
  • Frequent travel to current Sender One locations, and be stationed at a new location for up to 3 - 6 months;
  • Must be able to work certain morning, night, and alternate weekend day shifts depending on business and/or operational needs;
  • Attend weekly meetings and check ins with various members of the gym operations team;
  • Attend the Mandatory All Staff Quarterly meeting.
