Description

Job Summary: The position will provide expertise and direction to the organization, clients and business partners, in the area of Employee Benefits information and compliance.

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Communicate regularly with producers, Benefits department, clients, prospects and business partners regarding Health Care Reform and other legislative and legal issues in the employee benefits arena.

  • Participate in Capabilities Presentations and otherwise assist producers with new business opportunities.

  • Provide guidance and counseling as needed to clients with specific questions or concerns regardingERISA, HIPAA, COBRA,and other employee benefit-related legislation

  • Write articles and opinions regarding changes in the health care area for dissemination to clients both through direct email and in our monthly newsletter.

  • Act as internal resource to interpret benefits information for the organization.

  • Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to gain a legal opinion and ensure we provide the most comprehensive and clear benefits information to all parties.

  • Provide tools, training, and assistance for SPD and plan document reviews to the employee benefits teams.

  • Lead regular Webinars to educate Cobbs employees and clients regarding health care reform and other pertinent information.

  • Provide expertise through public speaking at Cobbs Seminars and other venues.

Qualifications
  • 5 to 7 years Employee Benefits experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • Health Care legal experience is required; J.D. preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
