Description

Tribal Diagnostics is looking for a Lab General Supervisor.  This is a full-time, on-site position that will be located in Oklahoma City. 

Job Summary:

As the Medical Laboratory Supervisor at Tribal Diagnostics, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the laboratory team. Your responsibilities will include supervising staff, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the medical laboratory, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow management.
  • Oversee the performance of diagnostic tests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and precision of test results.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of laboratory procedures and documentation.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of medical laboratory technicians and technologists.
  • Provide guidance on complex cases, troubleshoot issues, and offer training as needed.
  • Manage laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment to ensure continuous operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of laboratory activities, including test results, quality control data, and maintenance logs.
  • Generate reports and metrics to monitor laboratory performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to increase laboratory efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical laboratory, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations and standards (CLIA, CAP, etc.).
  • Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and quality management software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around the laboratory
  • Ability to work at a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must have steady hands and the ability to pipet
  • Exposure to various chemicals and compounds
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
