At Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties (HFHSKKC) our vision is that everyone has a decent, affordable place to live.  HFHSKKC is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Habitat for Humanity works in King and Kittitas Counties to eliminate sub-standard housing and strengthen communities by building, renovating, and repairing homes.

 

We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. You will facilitate daily HR functions like maintaining employee records and supporting the recruiting process. Support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work in the organization and assure that these are embedded in HR process, policies, and procedures. Your role involves performing tasks with a focus to grow our company’s talent pipeline and improve our sourcing tactics. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. They will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of HR projects and operations. To succeed in this role, you should be familiar using HR software and tools. Ultimately, you should be able to contribute to the attainment of specific goals and results of the HR department and the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance as needed.
  • Redirect HR related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person of the team.
  • Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc.) in Paycom and ensure all employment requirements are met.
  • Liaise with other departments or functions (Finance, Retail Construction, etc.)
  • Support the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing job offers, etc.
  • Assist supervisors in performance management procedures.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events etc. and maintain the team’s agenda.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars as requested.
  • Perform new hire orientations, onboarding and update records with new hires.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like employee feedback surveys.
  • Support other functions as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or applicable field, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources processes and understanding of best practices.
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, in particular)
  • In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, like resume databases and online communities
  • Familiarity with social media recruiting, such as LinkedIn.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Good organizational and time management skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to lift at least 20lbs.
  • Sit or stand and work at a computer for extended periods of time

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • HR Certification a plus, may be obtained as part of employment
