Yard Driver

Founded in 2005, Guardian Operations (“Guardian”) provides repair/replacement roofing services and gutter services to residential and light commercial customers throughout the Puget Sound. Guardian employs over 100 people and 100% of Guardian’s work is focused on repair and replacement (i.e. no new construction). The company has increased gross revenue by roughly 60% over the past five (5) years to $25M as a direct result of (a) an outstanding local reputation and (b) fielding an exceptionally strong, long-tenured team. With the support of Skylight, management intends to double the company’s size over the next five (5) years.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Approach the job daily with a safety-first mentality while always operating truck/trailer safely and lawfully

• Moves trucks and trailers for receiving when needed
• Moves trucks and trailers as needed to complete the loading process
• Arranges trucks and trailers on the yard in an orderly and efficient manner
• Deliver and pick up debris trailers, portable toilets, and returnable materials as directed by management from job sites in varying locations around Guardian’s service area
• Make frequent drops at area dumps
• Ability to make determinations of recyclable, versus non-recyclable materials to ensure proper disposal of job site waste
• Safe operation of equipment provided to safely haul loads (for example, forklift, dock plates or load bars and straps)
• Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible
• Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business
• Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public

• Warehouse duties including receiving, sorting, and picking material

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+ years of experience in a driving role with 3 years clean driving record- copy of driving record required
• Valid driver’s license or higher
• Current Forklift Certification
• OSHA 10 and First Aid Certification is a plus
• Experience in roofing (or other construction fields) would be valuable
• Ability to manage high volume workload with competing and changing priorities
• Intermediate level of computer proficiency

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. at times
• Must be able to drive up to 100 miles per day
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
