What You'll Do

The Hobby Strategy Manager is the resident expert on TCGs, RPGs, Accessories, and Miniatures within the Inside Sales/Hobby Team and is responsible for developing strategies and achieving sales targets for the specified product categories. The Hobby Strategy Manager will coordinate with the Hobby Sales Team, Vendor Relations Team, Marketing Team, and our retail partners to maximize sales productivity. This role will lead, develop, and own the Hobby Team Training Program with the Senior Sales Director.  This pivotal role will have global exposure to Asmodee’s sister Route to Market teams to collaborate, design, and implement “best in class” selling strategies. Industry knowledge is highly desired and required for this role. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Sales Planning & Strategy: Develop comprehensive sales strategies that align with company objectives, focusing on our core play types: trading card games, miniatures, role-playing games, and accessories. 
  • Goal Setting & Achievement: Collaborate with sales team leadership to set realistic sales targets and devise effective plans and initiatives to meet or exceed these goals within the specified timeline. 
  • Sales Productivity Enhancement: Implement tools, processes, and practices to boost sales team efficiency and effectiveness and ensure optimal productivity levels. 
  • Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with marketing and vendor relations departments and studios to fully integrate sales strategies with marketing campaigns and product launches, facilitating a seamless retailer experience. 
  • Market Analysis & Trends: Continuously monitor industry trends and market dynamics specific to our play types, adjusting sales strategies accordingly to maintain competitive advantage. 
  • Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and support to the sales team, ensuring they are well-versed in product knowledge and equipped with effective sales techniques. 
  • Reporting & Analytics: Analyze sales performance data regularly, providing detailed reports to senior management and using insights to refine and optimize sales strategies. 
  • Retailer Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key retailers and sub-distributors, understand their needs, and ensure they fully engage with our product lines. 

What Makes You Successful

Education/Experience  

  • Four years proven experience creating successful sales and market activation strategies. 
  • Industry experience: TCGs, Miniatures and RPGs  
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, sales or related field. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite and PowerBI, CRMs (Salesforce, Pipedrive) 
  • Ability to take critical sales data and strategy and translate that information into presentations that are relevant and insightful for the intended audience.  

 

Qualifications  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with other individuals in a high energy, team-oriented environment. 
  • Acute problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to conduct independent research and explain diverse product lines with ease. Adapts presentation content based on the audience. 
  • Frequent travel within the US (up to 25%)
