Little City is seeking full-time Nurse Educators to join our team!

Little City Foundation is an organization that provides an array of services, including residential and community day services, for adults and children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are looking for a salaried Full-Time Nurse Educator/RN Trainer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $74,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Rotating weekends

Duties:

-Train and authorize non-licensed staff to administer medications

-Teaching the monthly DHS Medication Administration class

-Assess individual served to determine their medication self-administration capabilities

-Assess individuals health status on an annual basis and as needed

-Maintain progress notes and follow-up on any medical issues

-Monitor medications, medication administration and all accompanying documentation

-Document and complete nursing assessments by due dates

-Administer medications as needed for Adult, Children, and Community individuals during Day Program and Residential home.

-Teach and train staff to adequately provide daily care to individuals we serve

-Actively participate in the IDT meetings

-Other assigned duties as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in nursing require, Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Be licensed as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse in Illinois. Possess two years of clinical registered professional nursing experience within the last five years, at least one of which shall preferably have been in developmental disabilities. Be eligible to take the DHS Nurse-Trainer training program and complete within 60 days of hire.

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)
  • RN (Preferred)
