Industrial Maintenance Technician

In the Industrial establishment, this employee will perform installs, maintenance, and repairs on machinery, auxiliary equipment, physical structures, piping, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, other duties may be assigned as required by management.

Essential Functions

  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Visually inspects and provides regular and emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Ability to dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.  Install new parts and reassemble.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors/ other maintenance to diagnose problem or repair machine.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
  • Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.

Required Skills

  • Ability to interpret and utilize hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical blueprints, operator manuals and/or part catalogs to successfully fulfill preventative and corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Safely sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
  • Use of Proper PPE and LOTO as required.
  • Maintain good attendance and able to work weekends as needed.
  • Certified to use Forklift, reach-truck, scissor lift.
  • Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.

education / experience requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year technical degree (Journeymen and/or Maintenance Certification)
  • 5+ years' experience in Industrial Maintenance is preferred
