Part-Time Food Service Assistant

Do you enjoy preparing food and serving others so they can have a memorable experience? Are you friendly and open to others? The Food Service Assistant helps provide campers with a safe and fun environment, through facilitation of meals. Responsible for helping create a space where they can take one-step close to Jesus.

 

General Qualifications

The Food Services Assistant must be a mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in his/her faith. He/she must be fully in accord with Carolina Creek Christian Camps (CCCC) mission statement, and statement of beliefs; committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. He/she must be of strong moral character and integrity.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Assist in food preparation 

  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed 

  • Attend all required staff meetings and events 

  • Actively participate in and contribute to the broader camp programs of CCCC

  • Actively engage and participate in the staff community through a godly attitude, words and actions.

 

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

 

Work Experience

  • None required

  • Previous food service experience preferred

  • Must possess an ability to work long hours 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A heart to serve wherever and whenever needed 

  • Must be teachable and ask questions where knowledge is lacking 

  • Must be a team player and willing to work with different types of people 

  • Must be flexible with an ability to adjust and problem solve in challenging situations 

  • Ability to maintain excellence in customer service under any circumstance 


 

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and ability to lift/carry from 15 to over 60 lbs. Requires operating motor vehicles in the course of their duties. 

Work is generally performed in a commercial kitchen environment, with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule, particularly during summer months. Work hours may vary and frequent evening and weekend hours are required. Travel between campuses is often required. The ability to receive frequent phone calls at all hours is required. 

 

Additional Requirements

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.

  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
