Full Time

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing material required for the manufacture of Mid-States Concrete Industries products. They oversee vendor and non-vendor managed inventory as well as well as new purchasing requests, which have a direct impact on the organization’s ability to generate savings while exceeding customer expectations. This individual will also be responsible for:

  • Stocking Items: Monitoring usage, set min/maxes, and work with teammates to ensure stock items, such as tape measurers, tools, and general PPE items, are available
  • Stock Inventory: Oversee administration of vendor-managed tool replacement program
  • Administration: Monitor Purchasing Inbox for requests; enter PO and non-PO information into database using proper GL Account numbers; maintain records of purchases; code credit card purchases
  • Production Purchasing: Serve as a backup to the Senior Purchaser
  • Rebar Forecasting: Analyze vendors rolling schedule and submit forecasted rebar usage
  • Month End Inventory: Complete Month End Inventory of high dollar stock items for accounting purposes

The Person

The Purchasing Specialist is a team player, able to juggle multiple tasks and timelines while providing excellent customer service. They are able to work both independently and across teams to ensure project are managed efficiently.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • 1-2 years of experience supporting purchasing/inventory
  • Previous experience negotiating pricing and reviewing purchase orders
  • Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft office proficiency
