Position Overview

General Job Description:

The Development Coordinator supports the strategic goals of the Institutional Advancement Unit, providing organizational, and communications support to every member of the unit and the Executive Office. The position will support enterprise-wide outreach efforts to implement the organization’s fundraising plans. The position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks at the same time, help manage many unit processes and projects, and providing outstanding customer service to external constituents. The Development Coordinator reports to the Manager of Development Operations and works closely with members of the IA team and the Executive office.



  • Support the process and execution of all fundraising campaigns, including but not limited to drafting emails, processing donor acknowledgements, and updating records in the organization’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Serve as a member of the “Research Team”, including preparing research profiles on prospects and donors to ensure successful stewardship and cultivation.
  • Coordinate the process and execution of nominating, engaging, and stewarding Board of Director (BOD) and the non-fiduciary Board of Counselor (BOC) members.
  • Provide support for board meetings, including but not limited to coordinating the bi-annual BOC calls, preparing materials for Committee calls, and providing on-site support for Board meetings (when reasonable to do so).
  • Support the fundraising and logistical needs for the Scales of Justice annual fundraising event.
  • Support the execution of regional receptions (when reasonable to do so).
  • Provide operational support to the IA Unit, including but not limited to coordinating agendas, taking and distributing meeting notes, and coordinating schedules for internal and external meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience and training required
  • 1-2 years of fundraising experience required, development operations experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting responsibilities of up to 20 pounds.


  • Daily activities are conducted in a typical office environment.
  • This position is currently remote until further notice.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Outlook), advanced in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent research skills, including but not limited to research databases and software.
  • Familiarity/experience with donor management software preferred.
  • Outstanding written and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
