Creative Services Content Creation Intern

Are you passionate and imaginative? Do you enjoy collaborating with others to produce innovative assets? Carolina Creek offers a year-long program for post-grad students who are looking for a place to get hands-on experience with camp programming, guest experience, communications, creative and marketing. The Content Creation Intern will work with the marketing team to coordinate the creation and delivery of assets on social media, emails, special events and more.


Program Objectives

The Internship Program at Carolina Creek is designed to walk with young adult participants as they grow and mature spiritually, professionally and in community with one another. Interns will have the opportunity to develop in, as well as receive training with regards to Identity In Christ, Spiritual Formation, Discipleship, Communal Living, Leadership (Biblical, Professional, and Social) and Ministry Career Skills.


This is not a gap-year program but is intended to provide work experience for post-graduates who desire to explore ministry careers related to Christian camping, Chrisitian hospitality, childrens or youth ministry, culinary fields, marketing or creative media ministries. Supervisors construct an individualized curriculum for each participant that will help them accomplish their own professional goals.


Primary Responsibilities

Participants in the Intern Program serve on our ministry team, as needed, whenever guests are present. This includes most, but not all weekends throughout the year, as well as some midweek groups. Direct ministry assignments will vary depending upon the giftings and abilities of each individual, but all participants should expect to be deployed as needed to accomplish our mission. Assignments may include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate Carolina Creek adventure/recreation, aquatics, and target sports in a safe manner for all guests.

  • Lead a small group of campers in Bible Studies, activities, and other program elements for midweek and weekend programs.

  • Assist the Kitchen Staff in serving and cleaning of meals for all guest groups.

  • Assist the Guest Experience team in preparing facilities for guests, including cleaning dining halls, common areas, and cabins as well as room setup.

  • Assist the Grounds Team in maintaining & improving grounds.

  • Participate in meetings and complete assignments received by the Intern Coordinator & supervisor.

Each intern will be assigned to a specific team at Carolina Creek. They will be able to apply the leadership principles they are learning from the Intern program in their daily work at Carolina Creek. This department will be secondary to the primary responsibility of leading the program and guest groups experience.

Living Allowance

The Content Creator  Intern is primarily responsible for working as the producer of high quality marketing pieces for Carolina Creek by collaborating with the print and design team as well as the media team. This isn’t just a internship, it’s a calling. At Carolina Creek we are risk-taking, spiritual contributors who laugh hard, and honor God with integrity. The Carolina Creek Creative Services team is looking for a talented professional and insanely passionate Jesus-follower who wants to change the world by supporting those on the front lines of ministry. The content creator intern will collaborate with the Creative Services team to deliver content needed by the marketing team that represents all aspects at Carolina Creek, giving a voice to our mission in action.


The basics: 

  • Keep the big goal in sight while being able to focus on the steps to get there

  • Crave feedback and hunger to grow in your storytelling,  vision casting and marketing abilities as part of a collaborative team

  • Think about how to get better with each and every project

  • Understand the fundamentals of a good story

  • Utilize photos, videos and design to convey the message in unique and different ways

  • Rock-solid work ethic and a positive attitude

  • Ready to step into the entire marketing process, from concept, development, deployment, analysis and refinement

  • Create engaging content that will be at home anywhere from phone screens, print, billboards, etc.

  • Clearly identify and articulate the “win” of a piece


The cherry on top:

  • You have experience in, or are very interested in learning, the marketing concepts for a non-profit organization

  • You understand the difference between critical details and the extra fluff

  • You’re not only okay with, but expect occasional workplace shenanigans


The Intern Program Participant at Carolina Creek must be a follower of Jesus Christ, still maturing and looking to grow in developing his/her faith. He/she must be fully in accord with Carolina Creeks mission statement, statement of beliefs, and community guidelines. He/she must be committed to be an active member of the intern community, participating in all assignments directed by the Intern Director.


All Participants are required to commit to the entire twelve-month program. Summer assignments will be determined in collaboration with each Intern as their professional skills and objectives are discovered throughout the year.
