Saint Andrew's School is seeking a full-time Upper School Mathematics Faculty member for the upcoming academic year 2022-2023.

Position Summary: 

The Upper School Mathematics teacher is responsible for providing the opportunity for students to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth; and for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success.  We seek dynamic individuals who are collaborative and innovative in their approach to teaching and who work to create an inclusive and supportive classroom and school-wide culture. This position will teach two sections of Geometry and two sections of Honors Algebra II AB, will cover one period in the Math Lab, and will serve as an Upper School advisor.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences that promote student growth and academic achievement.

• Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.

• Maintains effective and efficient record keeping procedures.

• Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.

• Collaborates with peers to enhance curriculum and instruction.

• Uses effective class management techniques to ensure effective learning.

• Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating activities and plans.

• Maintains expertise in subject matter through professional development.

• Stays current with technology advances and incorporates technology in the classroom.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

• Prior experience teaching Mathematics 

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty and parents

• Possess an understanding of technology to facilitate teaching, grades and communication

• Possess a collegiality and willingness to collaborate with colleagues
