Position Objective:

The Conference Center A/V Sound Technician is responsible for setup, support, mixing and recording of audio for breakout sessions and secondary events, as well as assisting with auditorium main event audio in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

General Qualifications:

The Conference Center Audio Visual ("A/V) /Sound Technician is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (MHA) mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Setup, support, and troubleshoot a variety of audio and visual equipment.
  • Record and edit speaker and breakout session audio for online posting.
  • Provide quality A/V services to the events taking place at MHA. This includes mixing live music, providing support, and fulfilling requests.
  • Work with the A/V team to upgrade and repair equipment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • High school graduate.
  • Some college preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Experience mixing live sound preferred.
  • Experience working with sound recording and mixing equipment preferred.
  • An understanding of MHA preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be a self-starter with ability to see projects and tasks through to completion.
  • Must be prepared and comfortable with a large degree of repetitious tasks.
  • Must be organized and flexible, being able to adjust to challenging situations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.
  • Imaginative, passionate, teacher with the ability to think up and follow through.
  • Emotionally mature and willing to accept responsibility.
  • Must be prepared to problem solve on the job.
  • A heart to server wherever and whoever is in need.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirements for onsite community living.
  • Will be assigned a secondary role(s).
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in Mount Hermon’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
