Position Objective:

The Dining Server I provides exceptional service to our Conference Center guests by personally engaging with the guests to make their stay enjoyable while offering food and beverage service, clearing and bussing, and performing setup, reset and cleaning tasks. The ultimate aim is to bless and minister to guests, as applicable, in the dining realm of guest service, in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

General Qualifications:

The Dining Server is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (MHA) mission, vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs, and retreats.

  • Ensure guest satisfaction and provide a memorable visit through provision of exceptional service (friendly, safe, efficient, thorough, ministry minded).
  • Consistently respectful and professional in all aspects of the position.
  • Work well with co-workers, guests, and other MHA staff; display a team-oriented mindset and attitude.
  • Follow specific instructions from the directing supervisor, staying on task at all times.
  • Multi-task while maintaining great attention to detail in order to achieve a high level of accuracy.
  • Perform preparation, cleanup, and reset duties to prepare for meal service.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Certificates/Licenses:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of college preferred due to onsite community living requirement.
  • Food Handler's Card.

Work Experience:

  • None required

  • Complete beverage service if trained accordingly.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk and be on your feet for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Work primarily indoors with occasional shifts worked outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.
  • Will be assigned a secondary role(s).
  • Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Commitment statements.
  • Ability to arrive on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
