We are seeking a motivated individual to serve in a lead role on our Cattle Operations Floater team. This person will help to coordinate workload, training and schedules for the team, while working throughout all areas of cattle production including feeding, cattle health, processing, and cattle movement. This is a great leadership opportunity for an individual who enjoys a variety in their schedule and wants to gain a better understanding of the operations as a whole.
This person will be responsible for:

Driving a culture of safety, animal welfare, quality, and continuous improvement across all teams and locations.

Coordinating with cattle operations managers and supervisors weekly and daily on workload planning; scheduling and assigning each floater, based on workforce planning and business needs.

Coordinating and delegating the Cattle Operations Floater team, including promoting teamwork, assisting with employee growth and development, partnering with HR on recruiting and hiring activities, ensuring company policies are communicated, applied, and enforced, coaching, and maintaining efficiency of personnel to maximize production goals.

Assisting area supervisors or managers in the supervision of other cattle production teams as needed, as well as working within and beside the teams as business needs arise.

Supervising, coordinating, and delegating interns for Cattle Operations, including introducing them to company culture and developing an internship schedule and program that is educational and beneficial for both interns and the company.

Accurately completing assigned projects and reports within all areas of cattle production.

Serving as a technical trainer for cattle operations; assisting with on-the-job training and education for all cattle operations areas, including cattle handling and equipment operation.

Assisting with the development of technical training throughout operations.

Assisting with research projects, including facilitation and communication with feedlot crews and research subject allocation and sample or data collection/management.

Serving all customers both internally and externally with a positive, professional, respectful, and courteous attitude with honesty and integrity.

Identifying continuous improvement opportunities in work areas.
Ideal candidate would possess the following skills and qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of cattle production experience.

Knowledge of general mechanics with experience in preventative maintenance.

Strong interest in leadership with a minimum of 1-3 years experience in lead/supervisor/management role.

Strong interest in training and developing personnel.

Driven, organized, action-oriented, analytical, and ability to multi-task.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Bachelor's degree in ag-related major; 2 years of related experience may be substituted with an Associate's degree; 4 years of experience may be substituted with a High School Diploma/GED.

Flexibility to adapt to other job roles as needed.
