GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

To assist with the procurement and installation functions of FFE (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment) items related to the construction of new and remodeled facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the planning and creating of Furniture, Fixture and Equipment as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance of current vendor list and catalog resources.
  • Prepare and finalize requisitions for the timely order of goods and services.
  • Identify sources to obtain competitive prices and terms.
  • Maintain files on FF&E items ordered.
  • Create installation directives for contract installation
  • Assist with reconciliation of vendor problems, including billing disputes and warranty service issues.
  • Assist clients in accessing warranty repair services when applicable.
  • Work closely with program representatives to help ensure equity.
  • Promote positive relationships with schools, departments, vendors, and the community.
  • Attendance at work is an essential function.
  • Monitor assembly and installation of furniture at facilities, some may occur on weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including assisting project managers during design, construction, and project closeout activities.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • 40 credited college hours or 4 years of experience in school business, governmental accounting, construction management or combination thereof

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Under immediate supervision, performs general assignments of work, with periodic check of performance by supervisor.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

PLANNING

Limited responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work operations.

DECISION MAKING

Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance and also frequent opportunity for decision-making of major importance, either of which would affect the work operations of medium organizational component and the organization's clientele.

ANALYTICAL ABILITY / PROBLEM SOLVING

Directed. Supervisory and/or professional skills using structured practices or policies and directed as to execution and review. Interpolation of learned things in moderately varied situations where reasoning and decision-making are essential.

USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS

Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, road and production machines and equipment, etc.)

PUBLIC CONTACT

Occasional contacts with patrons on routine matters.

EMPLOYEE CONTACT

Contacts of considerable importance within the department or office, such as those required in coordination of effort, or frequent contacts with other departments or offices, generally in normal course of performing duties. Requires tact in discussing problems and presenting data and making recommendations, but responsibility for action and decision reverts to others.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Texas driver's license

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

Intermediate: 10-Key, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint, MS Office Suite

Required to a drug test prior to employment and will be subject to post-accident, random, and reasonable cause testing during employment.

May work protracted or irregular hours due to client needs. Local and out of town travel may be required to other Raba Kistner offices, client locations and/or project locations.

Must present a professional appearance to best represent the firm and comply with all attendance requirements of Raba Kistner, Inc.
