About the Job

Delve is seeking an Information Design Intern to join our growing team. Our Visual Communication team uses graphic design, infographics, data visualization, video, motion-graphics, and communication best practices to support our clients and colleagues. Our work is equally focused on marketing our firm as well as guiding our clients through the design of digital and physical products and services.

In this role, you will work alongside researchers, strategists, engineers, and other designers in a dynamic consulting environment. Your role may include supporting client projects, working on an internal initiative, and developing professional skills through a personal internship-long project. Throughout the internship, you will be paired with an experienced Information Designer who will serve as your mentor, supporting you and reviewing your work on a weekly basis. To conclude the internship, you will create a case study for presentation to the Visual Communications team and for inclusion in your portfolio.


This position can be remote, but there is a strong preference for a candidate to be in person in our Philadelphia studio 2-3 days a week.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create a variety of graphic elements based on project needs (eg. Icons, Logos, Illustrations, Storyboards, Editorial Layouts, Social Media graphics, Re-touched photos, etc.).
  • Serve as a resource to project teams by creating visual communication deliverables for our clients or to support the project internally (eg. Presentations, documents, posters, Miro boards, etc.)
  • Work with project teams to collaboratively develop content needed during the user-centered design process (eg. research stimuli/storyboards, user journey/experience maps, visual workflows, etc.) 
  • Craft digital and physical mock-ups as needed to explore concepts and ideas and present clearly and confidently to the team. 
  • Bring the Visual Communication & Information Design perspective to project teams by championing the visual brand language of the Delve brand and applying it consistently across all project related materials.
  • Understand the visual brand language of our clients and ensure that it is appropriately applied (when requested) to project materials.
  • Create detailed (production ready) artwork for both print and/or digital artifacts.
  • When appropriate, communicating with suppliers to coordinate graphic materials execution (i.e. printed materials from Alphagraphics)
About You


  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree or equivalent training in Information Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design or related.
  • Completion of 2+ years of undergraduate course work or equivalent by the start of the internship.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Located and authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.


Preferred Experience 

  • You have a deep desire to learn more about product design and an openness to receiving feedback to grow in this field.
  • You are an excellent writer, communicator, facilitator, and storyteller.
  • You can work collaboratively in a hybrid environment, with a high degree of ambiguity and independence.
  • You are a conscientious, hard-working self-starter who takes initiative and keeps teammates informed of your progress, roadblocks, and needs.
  • You are proficient in Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Blender, or other animation/rendering programs.
