Description

St. John’s School seeks a Technical Support Specialist to join our Technology Team. The ideal
candidate will have the technical and people skills necessary to support the school staff and
students in a multi-platform environment. Technology is a d component of our curriculum.
We need a team player with an upbeat personality, strong technical skills, hardworking ethic,
patience, and commitment to excellence to keep us moving forward. The Technical Support
Specialist reports directly to the Director of Technology and is a 12-month position employee.


Duties:

- Frontline support for hardware and software troubleshooting
- Maintain hardware and software inventory
- Create, manage, and update school computer images
- Provide support and troubleshoot various computing equipment such as projectors, cameras,
interactive boards, printers, peripherals and audio/visual equipment
- Project management of select IT infrastructure implementations and upgrades
- Manage work performed by IT contractors on select systems and hardware
- Collaborate with other members of the Technology Department to support the successful
delivery of technology services throughout the school
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology

- Ability to assess and prioritize requests for technical support
- Ability to use critical thinking and logic skills to isolate and resolve technical issues in a
timely manner
- A tech enthusiast who stays current on both new technologies and improvements to existing
ones
- A team player who will support the tech projects initiated by other colleagues while also
taking the initiative to work independently when appropriate
- Passion for keeping all IT services running at all times
- Impeccable attendance and punctuality

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. of equipment on a regular basis
- Must be able to travel all over the campus
- Must be able to safely climb, crawl, bend, pull, reach, kneel, and stoop
- Must be available for on-call shifts after hours and on weekends
- Will be exposed to multiple environments indoors and outdoors, temperature controlled
offices and server rooms
- Must be able to operate a computer or related equipment 90% of the workday

Qualifications:

- Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) Preferred
- Extensive knowledge of Windows 10, Chrome OS, Mac OS X and iOS
- Knowledge of the following:
- Microsoft Office
- Google Apps
- Apple Configurator
- Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- iPhone Configuration Utility
- Android support
- Basic knowledge of networking and TCP/IP
