JOB TITLE: Dishwasher

Chevy Chase Country Club is looking for dishwashers to work in the banquet/catering area. Responsibilities include washing and properly storing all cooking utensils, china, flatware and glassware at Chevy Chase Country Club kitchens. Ensures that all programs and services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the Wheeling Park District and Chevy Chase Country Club.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Wash all dishes, silverware, utensils, glassware, etc. in the dish washing machine or by hand. Polish all silverware, platters, and chaffing dishes as necessary. Collect trash from kitchen areas; empty garbage barrels; wash and reline same with new bags. Examine garbage for mistakenly dropped silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. Wash or clean receiving area and trash areas. Sweep and mop dish area. Store all dishes and other wares in proper areas. Clean dish washing machine after each meal period. Other assigned duties as specified by supervisor, to include assisting in food preparation, putting away deliveries, cleaning coolers/freezers/storerooms. Work as scheduled.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 6 months working experience or aptitude to train. Knowledge of proper methods of washing and stacking dishes, including proper sanitation procedures, highly desirable.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to exercise good judgment and confidentiality. Must have the ability to speak, read and write in basic English.

 

HOURS:
Up to 30 Hours per week
Hours vary, and will include Mornings and afternoons.


PAY RATE:
$16.00 - $18.00 Per Hour


BENEFITS: Part-Time Staff receive an Individual Outdoor Pool Membership and an Individual Health & Fitness Membership (which includes use of the indoor pool) during the employment period.

May be exposed to chemicals or other potentially dangerous materials utilized during routine maintenance procedures.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Performs most activities indoors. Indoor environmental conditions will include lighting and temperature.
Must be able to adapt to the climate with marked changes in temperature from the heat in the kitchen area to the cold of refrigerated areas.

COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS:
Must be able to follow directions and perform work activities as described.
Must be able to communicate in a positive manner with other staff members, other company or agency personnel and with the public.
Must possess above-average organizational skills and must have appreciation for detailed, methodical work.
