Description

The GC Kids Elementary Assistant position is responsible for planning and organizing the needs of the Elementary ministries. This is a full-time position, and the schedule of hours will be set by the Programming Manager and may vary based upon the needs and ongoing events of the ministry.

Essential Job Functions

  • Clean and prepare all Elementary classrooms each week.
  • Format and adapt curriculum each month.
  • Gather and prepare all small group and large group materials each week.
  • Prepare all copies for parent handouts.
  • Coordinate Sunday morning classrooms, provide support and training to volunteers, etc.
  • Complete weekly preparations of materials and supplies for Wednesday Night programming.
  • Lead/Teach on Sundays and Wednesdays, as needed.
  • Plan and execute activities and events for 4/Five Crew.
  • Maintain elementary resource room.
  • Address and mail monthly birthday cards for elementary kids.
  • Storing ministry materials for storage in the crawl space area: this task includes the need for lifting to 25 pounds and stooping.
  • Attend Grace Chapel staff meetings, prayer meetings, and other church events as directed by the Executive Pastor.
  • Attend Childrens Ministry meetings, gatherings, trainings, and conferences as directed by Childrens Ministry Director.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of Childrens Ministry events. (Example: VBS, Main St. Festivals, Harvest Fest, Impact Volunteer Training Events, Super Start, etc.)
  • Assist with special events hosted by the church as directed by the Children's Director.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Programming Manager.

Qualifications

  • A mature Christian character and a growing personal commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • This position requires a person who has a passion to work with children.
  • Previous work experience as a teacher or volunteer service in childrens ministry is preferred.
  • A high degree of emotional intelligence and stability. Able to demonstrate a cheerful, diplomatic and caring attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and responsibilities.
  • Pays close attention to detail and is deadline-oriented.
  • Proficient with office machinery: computers, internet search engines, copiers, phone systems, Microsoft Office Suites. Able to become proficient quickly with additional computer programs and office machines as needed.
