This member of the UWSWPA regional team supports the execution of United Ways Community Impact agenda across Armstrong, Butler, Fayette and Westmoreland Counties to advance United Ways strategic goals, which include meeting basic needs, moving individuals and families to greater financial stability and building success in school and life. Under the direction of the Director of Regional Impact Initiatives, this includes managing the grant making process, outcome evaluation and accountability, as well as cultivating and managing community initiatives to identify and address critical community, education, and human service needs in our region.


Essential Functions

  • Maintain productive partner agency relationships by establishing clear communication and support channels, developing mutual respect and trust and regular interaction that helps both the partner and UWSWPA achieve mutual goals.
  • Analyze data to evaluate program impact in relation to established goals.
  • Support the efforts of the Impact Cabinets in the Westmoreland and Butler Region (board level committees) as well as other volunteer and project committees related to UWSWPA program initiatives regionally.
  • Provide support for UWSWPA impact initiatives and collaborations with partner agencies, other nonprofits, public agencies, corporate partners and the community at large.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the UWSWPA region to identify and deliver cross county programs and initiatives.
  • Work closely with Volunteer initiatives team to plan and execute meaningful opportunities for stakeholders in Armstrong, Butler , Fayette, and Westmoreland counties to become more deeply engaged in United Ways work in the community.


Additional Functions Serves on the internal Grants Cabinet to develop an annual grant-seeking plan to support our education and human service programs and initiatives.

  • Effectively manages data, within the Foundation database, to monitor progress, generate reports and adjust course if needed.
  • Promotes a cooperative spirit within the organization and among internal and external United Way employees and volunteers.
  • Assists with recruiting and supporting volunteers across our impact work.
  • Assists and participate in United Way campaign efforts and events as needed.
  • Performs other tasks and assignments as requested by the Regional Director.

Financial/Budgetary Responsibilities

  • Assesses and monitors critical community human service needs with partners, public agencies, and the community, developing funding recommendations that reflect those needs.
  • Monitors grant budgets and provides support to the Director of Regional Impact Initiatives for budget and project execution.

Education and Experience

  • Required: Bachelors Degree

Annual Salary Range

  • $36,900 - $43,400

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Analytical and program evaluation experience in nonprofits
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in grants management and program evaluation
  • Exceptional interpersonal communications and relationship management skills. Superior organizational skills, with attention to details and follow-through.   • Required: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel or other PC-based spreadsheet, as well as donor management software.
  • Strongly recommend possessing a valid drivers license and vehicle.


Physical Demands

  • Medium: Exerting 20 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10 -25 lbs. force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly. Physical demand requirements are greater than that required for Light Work.


Travel Requirements

  • Frequent travel within the region via ground transportation
  • Potential travel outside the region via ground transportation
