Position Overview:

The position of Part- Time Distribution Center Team Member is responsible for system and/or manual tasks to support inbound, inventory and outbound operations such as receiving, sorting, quality assurance, put away, picking, packing, and shipping. This is a non-exempt, non-supervisory position, reporting directly to a Distribution Center Supervisor.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accuracy and quality while meeting or exceeding production metrics
  • Preparing customer orders in functional area (Receiving, Stocking, Picking, Packing, etc.)
  • Occasionally using computer system to coordinate location transfer and replenishment of inventory
  • Performing housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe environment
  • Fostering a positive, collaborative work culture
  • Complying with all company personnel policies and practices as well as all federal, state, and local standards/requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, stand, and walk for an extended period of time
  • Ability to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation
  • Able to access all areas of building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs safely without limitation)
  • Able to read, understand, and speak basic level of English
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Must be able to perform basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, and division
  • Ability to operate manual carts, scanners, and a computer
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision

 

Experience/knowledge:

  • 6 months -1 year of prior experience in a distribution center (preferred but not required)
  • Prior experience in the textbook industry
  • Prior experience operating material handling equipment (pallet jack, fork lift, etc.)
