Part Time Youth Program Specialist-YTI

Position Summary

The Program Specialist will assist the Program Lead with planning, implementation, and evaluation of participants by leading activities in areas including technology, arts, & multi-media projects and leadership development. The Program Specialist will support in developing and assisting contracted teaching artists in delivering activities that foster storytelling, healthy relationships, resources in substance use education/ mental health and advocacy with all members and larger community by providing a space for youth to explore these themes and topics in the program. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working as a teacher’s assistant for contracted teaching artists during workshops and/ or events. 

  • Developing graphic content to market upcoming workshops and/or events. 

  • Emailing parents about workshop and/ or event reminders. 

  • Assisting the team in creating program schedules for the fiscal year. 

  • Maintaining program specific social media accounts.

  • Updating workshops and/ events on AACI YTI’s website utilizing WIX. 

  • Creating registration forms for upcoming workshops and/or events. 

  • Serving as liaison for both participants and parents. 

  • Designing campaigns on the themes of substance use, education, and mental health. 

  • Supporting other staff with developing AACI YTI’s podcast. 

  • May support workshops and/or events in varies locations within Santa Clara County. 

  • Complete other duties and related projects as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in, Sociology, Education, Communication, Marketing, Creative Arts or other directly related education programs. 

  • Experience working with youth required. 

  • Interests in technology, arts, and media. - specifically having skillsets in one of the following: digital media and production, arts and crafts, filmmaking, photography, broadcasting/ podcasting, etc. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Experience with Canva, Social Media Applications, and website editing. 

  • Excellent computer, cell phone, iPad, and internet skills. 

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Efficient time management and the ability to multitask. 

  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed. 

  • Ability to work under time constraints in a face-paced environment. 

  • Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural, professional, and experiential backgrounds.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.  

  • Experience with Adobe Suite is a plus.
