Position Summary
The Night Utility position is responsible for assisting a busy kitchen team with sweeping, mopping, deep cleaning of equipment, deep cleaning workstations and other support duties as they arise.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function)

  • Performs deep cleaning, general cleaning, and sanitation in accordance with DOH regulations in three kitchen locations and other designated areas, including but not limited to the Bistro and Pub. (*CF)
  • Follows daily & weekly deep cleaning checklists for all assigned locations/areas. (*CF)
  • Cleans all dishware, silverware, pots, pans, glassware, workstations, cooking equipment and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations and DOH regulations. (*CF)
  • Keeps floors dry and free of debris.
  • Sweeps and mops the floors in all kitchen areas, bistro area, and pub, as needed. (*CF)
  • Unpacks food deliveries according to HACCP guidelines. (*CF)
  • Maintains organized storage of dishware, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, etc. in appropriate areas.
  • Reports any damaged or faulty equipment, in any of the 3 kitchen locations, bistro, and pub to supervisor. (*CF)
  • Completes all required training and in-services.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or HSE preferred
  2. Prior experience preferred
  3. Basic computer skills required
  4. Able to write legibly, takes oral and written instruction well required
  5. Has demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the elderly or geriatric population
