What You Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline (equivalent job experience considered).
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience managing electrical/mechanical operations & maintenance; or designing plant/equipment and controls for office buildings and critical facilities.
  • Project management experience managing mechanical/electrical construction projects a plus.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • Must have or must obtain a top-secret security clearance, including full scope polygraph.
  • Detail oriented, organized, analytical, and proficient with Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Candidates must be a U.S Citizen.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with oversight of operations & maintenance contracts including building engineers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, fire alarm, controls, building management systems, power management systems, chiller plant and elevators.
  • Assist with establishing QA & QC programs to insure all work is performed in a safe, professional manner, in accordance with contracts and best practices for mission critical facilities.
  • Review and update LOP’s and MOP’s for planned maintenance, system testing and special projects.
  • Review and update spare parts inventory and critical spare parts list.
  • Review and update critical/emergency vendors list.
  • Must be familiar with construction drawings, one-line drawings and building systems for the campus.
  • Prepare scopes of work for design or implementation of various M/E/P and construction projects.
  • Solicit bids, assist with reviews and approvals of design and construction drawings and cost proposals for M/E/P and other construction projects.
  • Manage and coordinate assigned projects including document turn-over and as-built drawings.
  • Assist the team in preparing annual budgets and capital plans.
  • Manage and track construction and MEP as-built drawings and one-line diagram updates.
  • Arrange for inspections and submit appropriate documentation to comply with County, State and Federal requirements for environmental or other permits.
  • For new construction on campus, review prints and specifications, suggest improvements, participate in commissioning, and coordinate document turn over and preventive maintenance setup for new equipment.
  • Work closely with the Peterson Property Managers and the tenant facilities management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Carry a cell phone after business hours in case of emergency.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and off hours as needed for scheduled testing, commissioning, and maintenance of site equipment/systems that can’t be performed during core hours.
