About the Program

An integral part of this approach is the integration and alignment of school- and community-based services such as mental health services, student support, parent engagement opportunities and enrichment.

The Youth Sports Coach is integral in afterschool and weekend enrichment offerings for students.

 

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coach an assigned group of youth emphasizing skill development, safety, fair play, sportsmanship and fun
  • Preside over and/or facilitate team activities including all scheduled team practices and games
  • Work to establish and improve team unity and spirit
  • Ensure equal playing time for all players regardless of score
  • Oversee the maintaining of team equipment
  • Supervise youth on various modes of transportation and in sporting competition both onsite and while visiting other League locations
  • Adhere to Graham policies, objectives and rules

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency with one year of experience coaching youth in league-based sports
  • Able to manage administrative and coaching aspects of the position in a timely manner
  • Has a firm grasp of the rules and procedures involved in the competitive play of multiple sports
  • Able to teach with compassion and develop youth participants’ understanding of teamwork, sportsmanship, healthy lifestyles and nutrition.
