The role:

As a key member of the Seaman Supply Chain Team the Buyer is responsible for executing purchases aligned with purchasing and inventory policies. Ensures products are available to meet external customer demand and internal manufacturing requirements.


Position Requirements:

Oversee a seamless inbound flow of raw materials to support customer and manufacturing requirements.

Maintain knowledge of materials and sources of supply to ensure purchases are at a price consistent with quality/quantity.

Follow buying practices established for Seaman Paper.

Maintain vendor relationships.

Continually solicit samples and bids from new/current suppliers.

Ensure inventory levels of items managed meet established stocking levels.

Works diligently to ensure reliable on-time delivery in a dynamic work environment.

Maintain open communication lines with all vendors and internal partners.

Maintain KPI metrics & analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.


1+ years equivalent experience in purchasing.

Knowledge of purchasing practices including terms and general knowledge of business law relative to procurement practices and inventory management.

Dependable team player with a positive mindset.

The ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
