The American College of Financial Services (The College) seeks applicants to fill the position of Adjunct Faculty for online teaching or/and course content development in undergraduate and/or graduate financial planning-related programs. The Adjunct Faculty will apply their financial planning practitioner skill and expertise towards enabling students' achievement towards the goals and learning outcomes of the program(s).

The College is a leader in financial planning education and the applicant must have a strong interest in maintaining the quality and relevance of our remotely delivered educational programs. American College faculty can blend academic rigor with applied financial planning practice in developing sophisticated evidence-based planning techniques. The Adjunct Faculty must be able to effectively reflect the values of The College to the industry, the public, and accreditation agency representatives.

 

Key subject areas for the Adjunct Faculty will depend on department or subject matter. Overall, the position may need to align with the CFP® Board curriculum and specific programs’ curriculum at The College where needed. This position may typically be performed from remote locations.

The Adjunct Faculty position is a part of a pool and may participate in different programs at the College, as needed.
 

Key/Representative Activities:

· Teach assigned undergraduate and/or graduate courses in a variety of modalities (synchronous, asynchronous, hybrid, in-person, etc.)

· Support student success through timely faculty-student engagements.

· Support student persistence and progression through maintaining online community.

Essential Qualifications & Competencies

· Required Education Qualification:

  • To teach in graduate programs: A terminal degree in Financial Planning or related disciplines.
  • To teach in undergraduate programs: MS or MBA in Financial Planning or related disciplines.

· Required Financial Planning practitioner experience: minimum of 5 years of full-time financial planning practitioner experience (or minimum of 3 years for undergraduate faculty).

· Achievement and maintenance of program-specific designations may be required for particular programs. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Required Industry Designations: CFP®
  • Preferred Industry Designations: AFC®, CFA®, CPA®, EA®.
  • Preferred The American College Designations: ChFC®, CAP®, CLU®, RICP®, WMCP®, CLF®.
  • Significant levels of practitioner experience and expertise may be permitted as alternatives to some designations.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with peers, students, and prospective students.

· Must be able to work effectively as a member of The College’s faculty team.
