Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region is searching for a New Construction Closing Supervisor to join our team!


Working to build homes, communities and hope in Charlotte and the surrounding area, Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region has partnered with more than 3,000 families since 1983. This year, we will help over 300 families through new home construction, recycling existing homes, critical home repair projects and financial literacy training. Basic Functions: The Closing Supervisor will support the New Construction team throughout the build process, with a specific focus on insuring smooth closings and warranty procedures.


Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

  • Manage the warranty process for both New and Existing Home projects
    • Intake and tracking of new requests
    • Triage of warranty concerns as needed
    • Perform warranty repairs and/or assign to a construction staff member
    • Develop and implement homeowner maintenance skills training program, partnering with Family Services staff as appropriate
  • Support the New Construction team in leading volunteer groups and finishing projects
    • Lead volunteer groups on any tasks when scheduling conflicts occur
    • Coordinate with supervisors to spend up to three days on each New Construction project during the final punch phase, to insure clean and timely closings
  • Assist managers in performing internal quality control inspections on New Construction projects
  • Collaborate with Director of New Construction to establish a consistent approach to the job responsibilities
  • As an OSHA Competent Person, assist in leading efforts towards accomplishing a comprehensive construction safety program.

  • Ability to perform basic computer skills, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, mobile applications (required)
  • CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10-hour, OSHA Competent Person (HFHI training) (required following hire)
  • NC General Contractors License or Qualifier Status (preferred)
  • Bachelors Degree, LEED AP (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work on construction sites as expected of the field staff, to include, but not limited to:

  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Ability to work and maneuver on roofs and high spaces
  • Ability to work in tight confines and within crawlspaces
  • Ability to maneuver over uneven ground
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted
  • Ability to stand most or all of any given day
  • Ability to work outside for extended periods of time during all months of the year.


Ability work in office environment as needed which requires ability to speak, hear, with the visual and manual dexterity to manage papers, reports, and typing. Must embody the capacity to maintain the following for several hours at a time: use of personal computer or similar technology, phone, sitting as required.
