POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Skillbuilder, you will provide targeted skill training to help with independent living and social skills. Goals that the Skill Builder will work on could be Career Planning, Self-Care, Daily Living, Housing, and Money Management, including establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, how to accept no as an answer, handling conflict with peers and authority figures, and using their coping skills when feeling dysregulated. You will report to the Program Coordinator and you will work onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • At a minimum, 50% of the work week is spent face-to-face with clients to provide services designated in the Treatment Plan.
  • Provide services based on the youth's needs and preferences as identified in the Treatment Plan.
  • Work with treatment team members to identify goals and objectives of treatment, including youth, families, school, and counselors.
  • Complete all required documentation and submit it to the Supervisor within the required timeframes.
  • Ability to work with diverse consumers who have mental health challenges and may be developmentally delayed. Understand their independent living needs to work with the case manager to find resources in the community for educational and vocational skills and programming for discharge.

Requirements and Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children
  • Valid driver's license required
