Description

Job Summary: The CARE Site Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the implementation of positive youth development practices with daily activities and interactions with children. The CARE Site Coordinator is responsible for ensuring program quality including assisting in implementation of activities, providing leadership and guidance to staff and overseeing the ordering and distribution of snacks, materials and all supplies needed to operate the program.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensures the safety of all participants and CARE Counselors at all times
  • Provide guidance to staff while onsite in adhering to program quality standards
  • Serve as the on-site point person during emergency situations

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Implements and executes program activities with school-aged program staff
  • Supervises the preparation and distribution of snacks/meals to participants
  • Responsible for maintaining daily attendance records
  • Assist in daily participant arrival and departure procedures
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all employees, participants, parents, vendors, and volunteers
  • Communicate any site employee, participant behavioral or disciplinary problems to the Recreation Supervisor
  • Keep assigned areas clean and sanitized as needed
  • Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
  • Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings
  • Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs

Required Skills/Abilities (Technology, Mathematical, Language):

  • Ability to maintain and support high-quality programs
  • Ability to make effective decisions and communicate well with fellow team members, parents, and participants
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Exposure to cleaning and disinfecting supplies
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds
  • Frequently required to stand and walk
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance
  • The noise in the work environment is generally moderate to loud

Required Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification on an annual basis provided by the Wilmette Park District
