Job Summary

The delivery system practiced at FHN Memorial Hospital employs the concepts of differentiated nursing incorporating the PRIDE Standards as set forth by FHN. Responsibilities for delegated patient care activities under the direction of licensed professionals, for an identified patient population.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates clinical competency in providing age specific care to patients in designated areas of practice.
  • Provide activities of daily living- feeding, hygiene, bed making, and ambulation.
  • Restocking of supplies-
  • Specimen collection
  • Perform diagnostic measures of BGM and 12-lead EKG.
  • Therapeutic measures- vital signs, cold/heat therapies, etc.
  • Responds to customer requests/concerns.
  • Displays competency for the Certified Nurse Assistant role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Machine/Equipment/Software Usage
  • Electric Lift, Manual Lift, Sit/Stand lift                     Daily
  • EKG Machine                                                                Daily
  • Blood Glucose Monitoring Equipment                    Daily
  • Electric beds, Bed Scales, Bed and Chair Alarms    Daily
  • AE & Cryo Cuffs                                                            Daily
  • Bladder Scanner                                                           Daily
  • Cardiac Monitor                                                           Daily

Qualifications

Requirements

Education:  Successfully completed CNA course and BLS required       

Required Experience:. and zero to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Certification Required. 

Populations Served:

While performing this job, the employee may care for patients in the following age groups.

  • Neonate: <30 days
  • Infant: <1 year
  • Early Childhood: 1 year and <5 years
  • Late Childhood: 5 years and <13 years
  • Adolescent: 13 to <17 years
  • Young Adult: 17 to <30 years
  • Middle Adult: 30 to <60 years
  • Older Adult: >60 years
  • Serves patients in areas other than patient care.

While performing this job, the employee does not care for patients in the following age groups.

  • No responsibility to treat or care for patients.
