Academy Instructor

Summary:

Provide instruction for Academy classes. 

 

Job Duties:

Include the flowing. Other duties as assigned.

 

Teaching and Curriculum

  • Teach ballet and pointe in the Middle and Upper school
  • Teach in the Adult program
  • Prepare, teach and adjudicate evaluation classes as requested
  • Ability to teach character is a plus

 

Program Development

  • Stage and rehearse ballets
  • Prepare choreography as needed
  • Attend and assist with backstage duties at Academy performances
  • Attend faculty and staff meetings

 

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience and certifications
  • Two years of teaching experience
  • Available to work 5 days including nights and weekends for performances and/or auditions as necessary.

Computer Skills

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
