Role Summary:


The Marketing and Communications Manager will develop and execute marketing strategies, construct clear and concise communications, build cohesive company brand awareness, establish strategic marketing vendor relationships in partnership with supply chain leadership and support sales by engaging with top customers to drive sales and growth.

Scope of the Position:


The Marketing and Communications Manager will be based at the Huntsville, AL site and support a $150mm company with 5 locations and 400+ employees.  The Marketing Manager will also lead 1-2 direct reports.  This position requires <25% travel.




Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Develop and execute effective digital marketing strategies (SEO, Social media, email campaigns, online reviews, etc.) including measurable results to leadership
  • Full management of marketing and communication budget
  • Develop marketing strategies and metrics to align with company goals
  • Execute traditional marketing efforts relevant to the company brand
  • Ensure consistency, awareness and integrity behind all company brand guidelines and usage
  • Establish methods for gathering customer and employee insights to provide an understanding of driving factors and develop strategies leading to success
  • Develop and support customer touchpoints to support sales growth and customer relations: including customer events, builder education, and customer gifts
  • Oversee, distribute and create as needed all company and customer newsletters including blog posts
  • Create brand and style for all company internal and external communications
  • Communicate with media outlets as needed, including local press releases and industry publications
  • Develop processes to educate staff of communication best practices and company guidelines
  • Negotiate Co-op and vendor programs to support marketing efforts and strategies, including partnerships with Purchasing and Finance for proper tracking
  • Maintain company web presence on public and vendor websites
  • Support sales efforts by keeping current vendor literature and coordinate product training with vendors
  • Develop and produce of company videos or facilitate the development and production of company videos
  • Produce/coordinate the production of promotional materials
  • Maintain internal slideshow and information boards
  • Serve as company liaison to Huntsville Madison County Builders Association Sales and Marketing Council
  • Conduct Quarterly Conversations with each direct report as required


Position Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficient in graphic design software including but not limited to Canva
  • Experience using Mailchimp and SurveyMonkey, or similar tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • Some travel as required


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field
  • 5+ years experience in Marketing, Branding and Communication in a large organization ($50M+) organization selling products or services
  • Exceptional experience in website and social media management, event planning, and development of marketing campaigns
  • Consistently met or exceeded deadlines and provided leadership by example
  • Knowledge of construction and building materials industry a plus
