Julias Café and Bookstore is looking for a Barista and Book Coordinator! The position will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, knowledge of products and events, and accurate cash handling. Maintain and organize all incoming book donations; assist with book drive processes while helping with the online department and training of new volunteers.

Essential Functions:

Provide customer service and information/education about Habitat and coffee to customers

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and meal items

Maintain supplies in stock levels within budget guidelines with minimum waste

Assess and provide adequate staffing to provide efficient, friendly, and superior service

Assist with hiring and training of volunteers and team members

Assist with day-to-day operations

Assist with volunteer retention

Assist with recruiting volunteers by communicating with Habitat Charlotte Volunteer Services team

Assist with managing book department online inventory

Maintain and organize incoming donations from the donation dock

Assist with managing Media inventory

Be an effective team member when working with staff and volunteers, ensuring the engagement and motivation of others

Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when interacting with employees, customers, donors, volunteers and the public

Ensure a meaningful volunteer experience

Represent Habitat in a positive, professional manner to all donors, customers and others you come in contact with

Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for customers, employees and volunteers
