The Opportunity   

As a critical role in the Benetech Business Management team, you will support integrated marketing (digital, program, product, corporate, event) and social media outreach. You will directly contribute to building awareness and thought leadership around Benetech’s work in education equity, and drive adoption of our “software for good” product solutions. We are looking for a mission-minded marketer who wants to leverage impactful marketing practices in support of meaningful issues and programs for people around the world. This is a unique opportunity for a rising marketer to further build out their marketing capabilities and gain valuable technology and cause-related communications experience. The successful candidate will have broad and solid knowledge of marketing fundamentals, organization skills, aptitude for using or learning marketing technology solutions, enthusiasm to learn, create, and the ability to work and deliver on multiple projects at a time. You will work with a great team of marketers with solid private and nonprofit sector marketing experience to do amazing work.  

Key Responsibilities   

  • Collaborate on digital marketing campaigns through the creation of (writing, design, layout) digital marketing content, such as email campaigns and landing pages  

  • Create engaging and interactive promotional materials and influencer content such as interviews, blogs and other contributed editorials for program, product, and event marketing  

  • Support creative media development such as image sourcing, videos, etc.  

  • Social media management through monitoring and content posting on key social media channels, like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn 

  • Assist in campaign performance measurement and analytics  

Qualifications and Core Competencies  

  • Required:  

    • BA/BS degree (marketing or communications majors preferred)  

    • At least 2-4 years of relevant experience in a marketing or communications role  

    • Working knowledge of branding, marketing, and design fundamentals and best practices  

    • Demonstrated knowledge of social media tools and social media business etiquette  

    • Digital competence with ability to learn and leverage business technology tools such as Hootsuite, Salesforce, etc. to scale delivery of work  

    • Strong writing, copyediting, and verbal communication skills  

    • Solid planning, organization, and reporting skills / attention to detail  

    • A growth mindset  

    • Ability to deliver high quality work on tight timeframes  

    • Ability to communicate and collaborate work with internal teams, as well as outside partners and contractors  

    • Excellent independent problem-solving skills   

    • Commitment to honoring Benetech’s mission and benefactors; staying up to date on disability issues and inclusive practices  

  • Preferred: 

    • Background in cause-related marketing and/or technology product communications  

    • Experience with design and digital marketing tools like Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing solutions, website content management systems (WordPress, Drupal), basic HTML, Pardot, Salesforce  

    • Previous work with edtech, tech or education-specific organizations  

    • Held previous roles in journalism or PR
