Senior Partnerships and Recruitment Manager 

Reports to: Seal Team Lead

Job Summary 

The Senior Partnerships & Recruitment Manager (“SPRM”) supports the Director of Partnerships and Recruitment in executing the Volunteer Recruitment strategy and is a key relationship builder and holder with Threads university, corporate, and community-based partners. The SPRM assists the Director of Partnerships and Recruitment and their fellow Partnerships and Recruitment Managers in recruiting new volunteers by maintaining records of key relationships, events, and opportunities to share Thread. The SPRM assists the Director in developing systems and strategies to increase efficiency, secure higher conversion rates and deepen the evaluation, feedback loops and usage of evaluative data for continuous improvement across the system design.

The SPRM shall serve as the subject matter expert for skill building, knowledge transfer, and establishing best practices for PRMs, in addition to laterally coaching towards compliance and full model implementation. This role involves modifying and further developing the playbook that will serve as the guidance manual for standardizing the functions of the partnerships and recruitment managers across the various sites and communities.  The SPRM shall be responsible for the quality assurance and program compliance functions related to recruitment and will observe and evaluate PRM activities to ensure adherence to best practices and the Thread model. 

Furthermore, the SPRM shall facilitate the weekly Community of Practice (CoP) meetings as an extension of providing support to the PRM team on a daily basis. The SPRM is someone that has consistently demonstrated the appropriate core competencies and workplace norms in this role, and that contributes to outcomes which support Thread’s mission and goals. In addition, the SPRM shall be capable of guiding PRMs through strategic planning initiatives such as prioritizing milestones that need to be achieved and/or problems that need to be resolved within short periods of time.  Through these initiatives, the goal will be to work toward perfecting strategies and efforts that can then be successfully replicated.  

Key Responsibilities 

Leading Community of Practice

  • Facilitate standing PRM Community of Practice meetings
  • Regularly review and as needed, update PRM guidance document “playbook” that will serve as a resource for clarifying approaches, activities, and responsibilities
  • Coordinate agenda topics that are meaningful, relevant, and impactful for the success of the recruitment team
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert to help identify opportunities to improve performance, innovate tactics, and elevate / escalate challenges, trends, and solutions to Lane Leadership (Lead and Directors) 
  • Serve as a thought partner with Lane Leadership to reinforce the appropriate behaviors necessary to achieve the P&R Targets and Metrics 
  • Ensure that the PRM CoP members understand the various tools and methodologies for recruitment strategies for various communities. Own the strategy and plan for recruitment activities for university and community volunteers

Quality Assurance and Staff Development: 

  • In partnership with the SEAL Team, evaluate and examine the recruitment practices and procedures across all communities
  • In collaboration with Directors as needed, laterally coach and support the development of Partnerships and Recruitment Managers to assure quality and fidelity to the Thread Model 
  • Identify and document key operations and practices that are not yet codified 
  • Lead role based onboarding for any newly hired Partnerships and Recruitment Managers
  • Assist with cross-training and skill development activities with less experienced staff in conjunction with other relevant teams 
  • Proactively identify trends and training opportunities based on quality evaluations
  • Conduct observations and evaluations of the recruitment work to support Partnerships and Recruitment Managers with full implementation of recruitment best practices 
  • Audit recruitment activities and provide feedback to PRMs to improve quality
  • Partner with Director of Research and Impact to develop feedback instruments for prospective volunteers
  • Develop procedures to enhance processes and general workflow for recruitment managers 
  • Deliver training to new full time recruitment staff to ensure they understand all processes and procedures related to our systems and playbook; provide general guidance to new PRMs as needed
  • Ensure all PRMs understand all procedures related to the Salesforce; works with middle and back office to design and deliver training as needed
  • Assist and support areas where operational problems develop and designs solutions to solve/rectify those problems
  • Develop and maintain the Recruitment Team’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and general knowledge management 

Relationship Identification, Cultivation, and Conversion 

  • In partnership with organizations and Resource Team Volunteers, engage in on-the-ground recruitment efforts that raise individual awareness of Thread and inspire people to get involved 
  • Organize, host, and mobilize prospective volunteers and partners to info sessions, orientation, and other Thread programming that embeds them into Thread culture and prepares them for formal roles in the Thread community 
  • Cultivate and convert prospective volunteers or resource partners from initial identification until they are Ready to Place in a Thread Family or ready to meet one of Thread’s needs 
  • Leverage Thread systems, data, and tools to identify and track all individual volunteers and partners throughout their conversion process

Personal Performance & Project Management 

  • Build, implement, monitor, and adjust regional recruitment strategy for volunteers and resources, utilizing data and metrics, as well as qualitative info gathering, to drive towards monthly, quarterly, and annual goals
  • Capture and document recruitment seasonal timelines and activities - ensuring that the playbook is complete for each critical recruitment window
  • Ensure compliance with budget, policies, etc
  • Collaborate with and leverage Threads other functional teams to assess community needs and execute recruitment strategy 
  • Develop, manage, and assist with additional projects as needed to achieve team goals

Qualifications

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3-5 years in relevant experience, including community organizing, recruitment, partnership development, storytelling, sales, and/or relationship management 
  • Excellent written and oral communication, including public speaking & persuasion skills 
  • Must have access to reliable vehicle and flexibility to work nights & weekends
  • Experience developing and tracking projects, leveraging databases and software such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite, & Saleforce.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and live out Threads Mission and Values
  • Understanding of and access to varied organizational and individual networks in the Baltimore region 
  • Self-Management and Self Assurance assesses own skills and seeks development, opportunities; able to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Minimum Associate Degree in a related field
