Bennett Thrasher (“BT”) has an opening for a Valuation Senior Associate. Working as part of a team and utilizing resources to add value to clients, seniors help perform valuation of business enterprises and ownership interests, the valuation of intellectual property and other intangible assets in connection with engagements for financial reporting, estate and gift and mergers and acquisitions, and the preparation of analyses and reports in connection with litigation and other special projects.
Primary responsibilities:
- Develops effective working relationships with clients and firm associates
- Gains a comprehensive understanding of client operations, processes and business objectives, and utilizes that knowledge during engagements
- Manages communication with clients and proactively asks for feedback on improvements in order to maximize client satisfaction
- Assists in client meetings
- Prepares, analyzes and explains historical and projected financial information
- Reviews complex data about material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income and expenditures
- Conducts research of guideline companies and other market data
- Recognizes potential issues from basic analysis of financial statements and communicates them to the team; works to resolve them
- Assists in final report preparation, proposals and executive presentations
- Efficiently enters income statements and balance sheets into the valuation model
- Reviews company's operating agreements to check for any applicable discounts
- Leads the more complicated segments of engagements
- Builds valuation and litigation models
- Builds and maintains positive relationships across the firm
- Supports interns and staff in professional development
- Contributes and supports new ideas on internal processes and client engagements
- Reviews staff’s work in a timely manner and coaches associates through review notes
- Maintains open communication with management regarding the progress of completion on projects
- Gives and receives feedback to minimize repeated errors and apply new concepts
- Performs accurate and timely self-review
- Prepares reports, executive presentations, engagement letters, bills and invoices
- Stays up to date with new industry standards and pronouncements
- Participates actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitator
