Description

As a Medical Student Intern, you will work alongside the provider to practice your clinical skills in an integrated medical setting with HealthLincs largely underserved patient population, while enhancing patient communication, history taking, physical examination, patient-centered care, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts Medicare Annual Wellness exams that will include but not limited to the following:
    • Complete patient history
    • Functional Assessments
    • SDOH
    • Patient Education
    • Medication Reconciliation
    • Conducts Medicare Advantage Annual Wellness visits that will include but not limited to components of Medical Annual Wellness exam as well as a physical exam Improves Population Health
    • Patient Education and addressing their fears/resistance/hesitancy
    • Assessment of chronic conditions per third party care opportunities
    • Preventive Cancer Screening
    • Access Adult to Prevention care per third party care opportunities
  • Wise Women (Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Assessment as part of Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) program
  • Promotes Pediatric Wellness
    • Components of well child check
      • Bright Future Assessments
      • Immunization status
      • Preventive screenings
  • All HealthLinc staff is committed to engage in quality improvement initiatives that align with and support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training

  • Must have completed first year of Medical School and be currently enrolled in second year.

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience working with basic Excel spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts

Skills/Job Requirement

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow HealthLinc policies and procedures

Technology Skills

  • Operate a multi-line phone system and other office equipment including printers, fax machines, etc.
  • Basic software skills (Microsoft Office, EHR, online sources, etc.)
