Exempt Full-Time, 12 months

  • The successful candidate for this position will oversee all aspects of a competitive intercollegiate program, including but not limited to the recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes, budgeting, scheduling, game and practice preparation and individual and team development.
  • Meet the recruiting and roster expectation set by the Director of Athletics and the Vice President for Admissions.
  • Fiscal responsibilities include budget management and fundraising for the women’s lacrosse program and assisting with the Athletic Departments fundraising efforts and events.
  • Manage all aspects of the women's lacrosse program, including coaching the team during traditional and non-traditional segments; planning, organizing, and supervising practices.
  • Develop and maintain a competitive program while overseeing compliance with NCAA and USA South rules and regulations. Responsible for the education of the women’s lacrosse coaching staff on all NCAA Compliance rules.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the game and practice facility to ensure the safety and well-being of your student athletes.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Athletics, including but not limited to, game management responsibilities and assisting with department events and fundraising activities.
  • Responsible for all women’s lacrosse staff members who assist in recruiting to take the NCAA recruiting/compliance exam annually. Submit appropriate compliance documentation regarding NCAA rules and regulations to compliance office and FAR.
  • Responsible for the oversight of an assistant coach. Furthermore, delegating responsibilities to coaching staff through day-to-day work activities. Managing and hiring of work-study students that are hired within the program.
  • Regular physical exertion, walking and exposure to weather are required; ability to travel; light lifting required (50 pounds and under); and ability to work evenings and weekends.

Coaching

  • Organize and conduct individual and team practices, training and competition for the program.
  • Coordinate an effective in-season and off-season conditioning program.
  • Lead, monitor and coordinate training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
  • Perform constant evaluation of team and individual performances.
  • Assist in academic monitoring and support for all student-athletes.
  • Work with athletic training staff as needed for prevention and care of player injuries and other health related issues.
  • Coordinate fundraising efforts for the sport within the guidelines set forth by the Athletics Department and the Advancement office.
  • Run clinics and camps for university and local community.
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationship with Pfeiffer Alumni.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree is required Master’s degree is preferred. Coaching experience on the intercollegiate level; comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations and compliance issues; Proven ability to fundraise and recruit; excellent communication and conflict resolution skills; demonstrated leadership ability; prior supervisory/management experience; valid driver’s license.

*Must have no history of previous major or minor NCAA infractions.
