Develop and maintain community relationships in order to procure business donations for resale in the stores. This position focuses on organizations, businesses, manufacturers, retail outlets, civic organizations and individuals that are making first-time or irregular donations. Responsible for sourcing and maintaining these donations across all of the Charlotte Region territory.

 

What Requirements Are Needed to be Successful in This Position:

 

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

  • Solicit and analyze potential donations from groups, organizations, businesses, individuals, etc.

  • Create outreach strategies (that may include cold-calling, researching construction schedules, or canvasing businesses) in order to generate donations to sustain the product flow within the ReStores.

  • Seek out sponsorships for future expenditures (trucks, truck wraps, mobile mini containers, events, etc.)

  • Manage procurement donations from start to finish (initiating donor contact, facilitating/scheduling pickup, determining pricing, delivering items to store locations and data input)

  • Ensure that donor communications, meetings, and pickups are entered into Salesforce for proper donor tracking.

  • Develop strong donor relationships with frequent touchpoints and follow ups to maintain and expand these relationships.

  • Make presentations to organizations to build a quality base of donors. Actively seek out new organizations to partner with.

  • Communicate with ReStore Managers frequently in order to determine what items are ideal product donations for each location.

  • Represent Habitat in a positive manner to all donors, customers and others you come in contact with.

  • Network within the community to acquire information needed to increase appropriate business donations.

 

Other Duties: Habitat Charlotte-related tasks as requested by supervisor

 

Education/Skills Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with basic computer skills

  • Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills

  • Ability to maintain DOT certification

  • Ability and willingness to operate a 16 foot to 26 foot box truck

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • A full understanding of ReStore merchandise and operations

  • Valid Drivers License

  • Ability to project manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to change easily

  • Sales, Management, and Nonprofit experience preferred

  • Car required with local travel

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Ability to climb in and out of a box truck multiple times a day

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted

  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation

  • Ability to work outdoors in all climates
