Position Title: Director of International Student Services

Department Name: Student Affairs

Position Reports To: Associate Dean of Students

FLSA STATUS: Salaried, Exempt

Salary Range:$71,250 to $75,000

Days & Hours: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Standard work schedule is 9:00 am to 5:30 PM, may be adjusted. Flexible schedule may require evening and weekend hours during peak periods.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee the daily operations of International Student Services and supervise staff & student employees
  • Collaborate with the Divisions of Student Success, GGU Worldwide, and all academic schools
  • Act as the point person for all things related to international student services, including but not limited to serving as the emergency on call
  • Collaborate with the Director of International Enrollment and Admissions to ensure seamless onboarding of international students and Director of Global Education on student services for immersions, study abroad, exchanges, transfers
  • Coordinate with upGrad Study Abroad and international other partners for transfer student advising and other services
  • Act as lead housing liaison and PoC for International Students; maintains partnerships with housing affiliates and verifies enrollment status; provides high-touch care and service for international students during the relocation process
  • Act as lead insurance liaison and PoC for International Students
  • Serve as DSO/ARO for the university; Lead immigration advisor for all visa holders across UG and GR programs serving as the main point of contact for international student questions and concerns; maintains active SEVIS knowledge, and OPT/CPT processes
  • Collaborate with academic advisors regarding at-risk international students and monitoring normal academic progress
  • Develop and implement online and in person student programs and activities for international students, coordinating with overall university student life activities, including Orientation. Promoting a rich in person student experience
  • Create, manage, and implement the ISS communication and messaging plan for international students, including recurring email and text campaigns
  • Assess the needs and promote retention and student success of international students, including new international student services as needed, catering to international students needs. Communicate recommend improvements and best practices to the associate dean and dean of students
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) or equivalent in a related field.
  • Four to ten years of full-time administrative experience and/or student services experience working in an educational environment; preferred with international student services
  • Three (3) year of experience as Designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident per federal regulations
