Description

As a student, you will work alongside the provider to practice your clinical skills in an integrated setting with HealthLinc’s largely underserved patient population, while enhancing patient communication, history taking, patient-centered care, Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage with your preceptor as you learn the following:
    • Rooming patients
    • Vitals
    • Chief Complaints
    • Patient Education within the scope of practice
    • Medication Reconciliation if applicable
    • Assist in stocking rooms
  • Improves Population Health by educating on preventative screenings
  • Complete the required hours for rotation
  • Abide by the standards set for by HealthLinc and your learning institution.
  • All HealthLinc staff is committed to engage in quality improvement initiatives that align with and support Patient- Centered Medical Home (PCMH).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training

  • Must be enrolled in a current medical assistant or dental assistant training program

Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience working in healthcare preferred

Skills/Job Requirement

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow HealthLinc policies and procedures

Technology Skills

  • Operate a multi-line phone system and other office equipment including printers, fax machines, etc.
  • Basic software skills (Microsoft Office, EHR, online sources, etc.)
