About the Job

The Interaction Design team at Delve designs digital products and services that help people enjoy better experiences with technology — at home, work, and play. Members of the Interaction Design team are generalists who draw from a breadth of applied knowledge and technical skills, including content strategy, information architecture, user interface design, user interface prototyping, and visual design, to ensure intuitive, safe, and engaging digital user experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for using a highly creative and collaborative process based on human-centered design principles to iteratively design, prototype, and support the evaluation of various digital devices, mobile apps, web applications, desktop applications, and IoT systems for our clients, from initial concept to execution.

Job Responsibilities  

  • Create and visually communicate a digital product’s information architecture to enable the design of intuitive navigation and clear wayfinding.

  • Iteratively design and document the content and behavior of software user interfaces via screen flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes at the appropriate level of fidelity based on project needs.

  • Leverage established user interface design patterns the fundamentals of visual design to apply brand-appropriate and usable styling to UI content and controls.

  • Effectively support and participate in design research and usability testing activities to uncover user needs, evaluate emerging design directions, and identify future refinement opportunities.

  • Represent the digital product design perspective and technical skillset for client project teams while championing opportunities and best practices for human-centered design.

  • Serve as the technical lead on small to medium-sized client projects with support of senior staff.


About You


  • 4+ years of experience in an interaction design or demonstrably equivalent digital product design role

  • Consulting experience

  • Located in the United States

One of the following:

  • Experience designing embedded software user interfaces for digital devices such as medical devices, smart devices, appliances, industrial equipment, or vehicles

  • Experience designing complex mobile, web, or desktop software applications for healthcare, financial services, transportation, or an equivalently technical and heavily regulated industry

Preferred Experience  

  • You understand established user interface patterns, when to employ them appropriately, and general best practices for human-computer interaction which you leverage to design software user interfaces for a range of platforms and environments.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and can leverage both user and business insights to inspire creative and divergent concept exploration and to elicit decisions around potential product features and requirements.

  • You can work independently with a high degree of autonomy and are able to clearly communicate both visually and verbally with key internal and external project stakeholders to keep them informed of your design needs, progress, and any potential obstacles.

  • You are a natural collaborator who knows when to include your project teammates and clients in the design process and can effectively participate in group activities, including in-person and remote design reviews and collaborative work sessions.

  • You are a convincing presenter and engaging storyteller who is comfortable on stage (or webcam) in front of an audience of clients and peers, whether sharing your design work or offering your expert opinion.
