SUMMARY:

The Graphic Designer (GD) is responsible for conceptualization and implementation of design solutions that meet the needs for the ministry’s two attractions from concept to completion working in collaboration with the Senior Graphic Designer and Senior Design Director. Every project is different, and some may require more time and work than others. But our goal is to produce the very best product we can for the funds and time available.

 

They must possess the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining pleasant, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important, and they must work independently with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities      

  1. Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
  2. Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done. 
  3. Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset.
  4. Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
  5. Work with Clickup, Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams.
  6. Create graphic solutions to exhibit design problems.
  7. Use type, color, backgrounds, photos, illustrations, 3D elements to produce Directional Signage, Promotional Signage, Books, Exhibit Design Layout Panels, Logos.
  8. Print Promotional Material, Layouts for CNC production, PowerPoint slides, and Exhibits, using Adobe Design Suite and other computer design software as needed.
  9. Work with outside print shops, select printing materials and follow through the whole printing process.
  10. Since we are also a production shop, our responsibilities will include learning how to work with our in-house printing operation and the use of the wide format printer and other related equipment to produce final exhibit ready signage and artwork.
  11. Exhibit model making will also be a part of the design process.
  12. Work with Fabrication and Design Teams on exhibit installation.
  13. And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Commitment to Christ and AiG mission
  2. Strong initiative with ability to work with limited direct supervision.
  3. Able to work well under pressure, determine priorities and produce results.
  4. Able to determine priorities and coordinate projects making good, independent decisions.
  5. React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  6. Fluent with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  7. Able to work creatively with others.
  8. Able to support/defend your ideas to others and be open to feedback provided.
  9. Work as a team member with the ministry’s objective
  10. Mission focused and motivated

 

 

Education & Experience

  1. 4 years’ Graphic Design experience.
  2. 2 years’ experience in signage design.
  3. 2 years’ experience working with a team.
