Job Summary

The Marketing & Communications Manager position is a full-time position which plays a critical role in ensuring the organization achieves its plans for growth in alignment with its mission, vision and values. This individual will be the driving force of marketing and communications efforts across the organization. The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for digital content creation, management of Bridges to ChangeÂ’s communication calendar, and managing all aspects of the organizationÂ’s social media presence. Ideally, the candidate will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and demonstrate an understanding of the key audiences they will interact with.

  • Work closely with the Development Director to develop a comprehensive and integrated marketing plan to promote Bridges to ChangeÂ’s programs, donor engagement and brand.
  • Work with member(s) of the senior leadership team to craft external and internal messaging reflective of Bridges to ChangeÂ’s organizational mission, vision, and values
  • Develop or coordinate development of electronic and print communication products, including all advertising, collateral, donor & member communications, website, E-newsletter, and social media.
  • Work closely with web development team and graphic designers for special project needs.
  • Manage oversight of media and public relation efforts including story placement, media outreach, earned media, and event and program promotion
  • Manage all aspects of Bridges to ChangeÂ’s social media presence (website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok)
  • Drive strategy to increase daily engagement on social media accounts
  • Lead content creation for social media, including written blog content, tweets, posts & videos, ability to produce quality photography and videography for platforms
  • Develop specific media, outreach and marketing plans for key programs and events
  • Create and monitor the production calendar for design and communication materials for all departments
  • Provide data to indicate the success of specific marketing strategies (e.g. followers, web hits, growth in social media reach, media coverage etc.)
  • Manage, organize, and archive all organizational digital and print assets
  • Manage Google Ad Grant, create successful ad campaign and monitor outcomes

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The following are the minimum levels required to successfully perform the Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities.

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in communications and/or marketing, preferably in a nonprofit organization
  • BachelorÂ’s degree in a related field, such as journalism, public relations or communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Proven results in implementing marketing and communications strategic plans
  • Proven results in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and analytics technologies (Google Analytics, etc) to engage a diverse audience
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms and basic HTML (WordPress, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing deadlines

Working Conditions

Environment and Physical Requirements: The Marketing and Communications Manager works in an office environment and occasionally visits other site locations. These locations are subject to a variety of environmental weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, and dust. The position frequently requires daily travel by car. Marketing and Communications Manager interacts constantly with staff, visitors, program participants, government agencies, and others. The position stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. The incumbent must be able to lift, push, pull and move files and equipment in excess of 15 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, forty hours per week with flexibility in scheduling. The Marketing and Communications Manager position also travels occasionally and may be required to work extended hours including evening, weekend and/or holiday work as job duties demand.
