The Development Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for supporting the development and marketing department in securing resources needed to advance The Arc Jacksonville's mission and create position change in the Jacksonville community.

The Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial sustainability and growth of our organization. The main responsibilities include coordinating special events, grants management, and administrative support.

Essential Responsibilities:

Development and Fundraising

  • Provide database management by overseeing and becoming an expert user of donor databases (Bloomerang, MailChimp, Fundaise Up, Give Lively) in order to input all gifts and date, run all reports, and update accounts.
  • Manage donor communications including acknowledgement letters, receipts, invoicing, birthday cards, impact updates, etc.

Special Events

  • Provide planning, administrative, and operational support for the organization's annual fundraising event, Dinner with Bill & Friends
  • Manage and provide support for monthly Mission Series luncheons and tours
  • Assist in managing community outreach initiatives including third party fundraising events, community tabling events, volunteer events, and other special events as needed

Grants Management

  • Assist with grant support, including application review and collecting data for and writing grant reports
  • Maintain grant calendar to meet deadlines for applications and reports

Administrative Support

  • Compile bi-monthly reports for the organization's Board of Directors' meetings
  • Provide administrative support to the President/CEO for projects as needed
  • Act as backup for front desk receptionist as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Commitment to The Arc Jacksonville's mission, vision, and values
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • Must pass Level 2 background screening and pre-employment drug screening
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate and encourage positive, polite interactions with people receiving services without reflecting personal opinions or negative emotions
  • Interact with co-workers in a way that encourages a positive and cooperative work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to three years experience in a development, communications, or customer service role
  • Database and/or CRM experience strongly desired
  • Experience in event planning strongly desired

Compensation and Benefits

  • Position is full-time with a salary range of $40,000 to $45,000 commensurate with experience
